The Process

Our technician prepares the surface...and sprays the porcelain. Our process consists of four major steps:

1. First, we sand down and clean the objects and clean the glass surface with a 200 proof alcohol.

2. Second, we etch the glass with a hydrofluoric acid which melts the first layer of porcelain off the glass making it very porous.

3. Third, we spray two coats of primer over the bathtub. The primer we use is a water resistant Epoxy Primer with a Adhesion Promoter which is designed for glass surfaces. The primer has a Silane coupling agent added to it before we apply it on the bathtub. It is also VERY IMPORTANT that an ADHESION PROMOTER is applied to the primer.

4. For the final step we spray three coats of synthetic porcelain over the primer but what is very important to the consumer is the actual chemical being used, and that is a aliphatic acrylic polyurethane enamel which looks and feels like natural porcelain. The chemical we use is an Aliphatic Acrylic Polyurethane Enamel, which is the ONLY chemical that should be used in our industry, and is used by 95% of the professional refinishing companies throughout the USA.

Note: Process takes about 3 hours, then only 4 hours later you can use the tub. We use special materials to allow one of the fastest drying times in the industry. We also offer to wait and provide caulking services that can only be completed after the tub has dryed for about an hour.

Note: We have non-skid materials available to avoid slipping and accidents that may occur.

Note: We have all colors available - To attain the color that you desire, you will need to visit a local Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore and look for 4 digit number for that paint and call us with the number. We can match any paint. If you require a custom color that cannot be found, please send us the color and we will create it for you.

Before refinishing: note darkened area of tile and between tub and tile. After refinishing: note that stained areas are now clear and white.
